Cookie Policy

Effective date: April 5, 2026

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites function correctly, provide security features, and remember your preferences. Cookies can be "session" cookies, which are deleted when you close your browser, or "persistent" cookies, which remain on your device until they expire or you delete them.

2. Cookies We Use

Beacon uses only essential cookies that are strictly necessary for the operation of the Service. We do not use advertising, tracking, or marketing cookies.

Cookie Purpose Type Expiration
beacon_session / laravel_session Authenticates your session and maintains your login state. This cookie is essential for using the Service. Essential Browser close or 2 hours of inactivity
XSRF-TOKEN Prevents cross-site request forgery (CSRF) attacks by validating that form submissions and state-changing requests originate from the Service. Essential Expires with session
cookie_consent Records your cookie preference so the consent banner is not displayed on subsequent visits. Essential 1 year
current_workspace_id Remembers which workspace you were last viewing so you are returned to the correct context when navigating back to the application. Essential Session (browser close)

3. No Tracking, Analytics, or Advertising Cookies

Beacon does not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or advertising cookies. We do not participate in advertising networks, and we do not build behavioral profiles of our users.

4. Third-Party Cookies

By default, Beacon does not set any third-party cookies. If the deployment operator has enabled optional analytics, only privacy-respecting analytics tools are used. We do not use Google Analytics or similar services that set cross-site tracking cookies.

Third-party services integrated into the Service (such as Stripe for payment processing) may set their own cookies when you interact with their interfaces (for example, during checkout). These cookies are governed by the respective third party's cookie and privacy policies.

5. Managing Cookies

You can control and manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:

  • View which cookies are currently stored and delete individual cookies
  • Block all cookies or only third-party cookies
  • Configure your browser to notify you when a cookie is being set
  • Delete all cookies when you close your browser

Please note that blocking or deleting essential cookies will impair the functionality of the Service. Specifically, you will not be able to remain logged in, and form submissions may fail due to CSRF protection requirements.

Instructions for managing cookies in common browsers:

  • Chrome: Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies and other site data
  • Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data
  • Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Manage and delete cookies and site data

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. When we make changes, we will post the revised policy on this page with an updated effective date.
